NEW YORK: Barclays Capital, the investment-banking division of Barclays Bank, made two key communications and marketing appointments last week.
The company named Andy MacMillan as head of corporate communications and global marketing for the Americas. MacMillan joins from the Nasdaq, where he was SVP of corporate communications.
MacMillan will be based in New York, and will be responsible for heading up media relations, advertising, internal communications, and marketing events for Barclays Capital in the Americas.
MacMillan was also previously director of communications at investment bank Credit Suisse First Boston.
Linda Wynns and David Landgraf, who head the corporate communications and global marketing functions, respectively, will report directly to MacMillan.
Barclays has also appointed Joss Mathieson as head of internal communications.
He will be based in London.
Mathieson joins Barclays Capital from a senior role in the group strategy and planning division at Barclays Bank.
He will be focusing on improving internal information flow, and using internal communication as a catalyst for creating cross-selling opportunities.
"Communications and marketing functions at Barclays Capital have a tradition of being very close to their businesses in delivering revenue-generating ideas," said John Anderson, global head of corporate communications and global marketing for Barclays Capital, in a prepared statement. "These hires will serve to sustain that tradition."
