NEW YORK: Formula PR, a San Diego-based PR firm, is shoring up its presence in New York with a new office.
Stephen Millikin, formerly with LaForce & Stevens, will head the new venture with the title of vice president.
The office will serve clients such as YM magazine, Child magazine, WCBS' Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, and the AMC Networks. Formula has been working on New York projects for most of its 10-year life, including YM's recent denim show at New York Fashion Week, but wanted to establish a permanent presence.
"I think our success has been based on national brands realizing that they do not need a large national agency to drive innovative campaigns and programs," said president and founder Michael Olguin. "What they need is smart people who drive creative solutions to move the brand forward, which is where our success has been, and is what drove our decision to expand to New York."
Millikin has eight years' experience in the New York market.
