DETROIT: Ford Motor Credit, the finance arm of the US motor giant, is looking for a corporate communications director, a worldwide role and the first of its kind within the company, based at its Detroit headquarters.
The decision to appoint a worldwide PR head follows a period of rapid expansion for FMC, which is now the largest automotive finance company in the world. It offers financial packages for dealers and customers buying or leasing Ford cars, and operates out of 290 locations.
Currently Ford Motor Credit has a PR team of two based in Detroit and one in South East Asia. PR manager David Nash handles European PR from the UK. The only external agency the company uses in Europe is Shandwick Germany.
Ford Motor Credit recently appointed a new chief executive, Philippe Paillart, who joined from Standard Chartered Bank in Singapore two months ago, where he was group executive director responsible for consumer banking strategy. The new post is expected to report to Paillart.
