Bloomingdale's and 3Com's PR departments are trying to capitalize on the holiday season and draw shoppers to their website not only for shopping, but for window-shopping, as well. With consumers making more Net purchases than ever before, Bloomingdale's is boosting online sales by broadcasting live shots of its world-famous window displays from its flagship Manhattan store. For example, one of the views is live images of children visiting with Santa Claus in one store window. By using 3Com's Bigpicture video cameras, both companies benefit from the increased exposure.
