NEW YORK: Darren Brandt has quit Morgen-Walke Associates to join start-up financial media agency Sloane & Company.

Brandt, who has been named vice president of the nascent agency, is a long-time associate of former Edelman vice president Elliot Sloane who started the company in October.

Brandt was responsible for healthcare media relations at Morgen Walke and was previously with Edelman Financial.

Sloane said: 'Darren's intimate industry knowledge in the healthcare, telecommunications and real estate sectors will play an integral part in growing these important practice areas.'

Brandt, a 28 year-old graduate of the University of Maryland, said, 'Elliot and I worked together for a very enjoyable five years at Edelman. We were both respectful of our previous companies in not going after their clients, but there are other people I have my eye on. This is a great opportunity to participate.'

At Edelman, Brandt was responsible for financial and corporate media relations programs along with merger and acquisitions activity.
