SAN FRANCISCO: Ruder Finn has added two seasoned veterans of the local hi-tech PR scene to its San Francisco office.

Bill Bennett was hired as SVP of marketing strategies, while Jeanne Alford signed on as a VP.

In his new post, Bennett will fill dual roles. He plans to consult with all clients on big-picture concerns such as 'looking at the characteristics of the market and strategic positioning.' He will also supervise several accounts, including AllAdvantage.com and StockPower.

Prior to joining RF, Bennett served as a founding partner at Information Design Associates. Before that, he was a senior VP for Golin/Harris in San Francisco and spent four years as senior VP and GM of Hill & Knowlton's Santa Clara office.

Alford, whose resume includes stints at Visa USA, Phillips Electronics and a host of Silicon Valley agencies, will be responsible for new business and direct management of a few yet-to-be-announced software accounts.

Both Alford and Bennett report to managing director Catherine Litzow, who joined Ruder Finn from the GCI Group when the firm opened its doors in San Francisco last October.

With 12 employees and eight accounts, the office now claims to have over dollars 1 million in billings.
