WASHINGTON, DC: Want to inject some spiritualism into your daily grind?

The Dalai Lama is looking for public relations volunteers.

Josh Baran, managing director of Fenton Communications (New York), is coordinating PR for the Dalai Lama's visit next month (August 12-15), which is being sponsored by the Tibet Center as well as actor Richard Gere.

Baran is seeking six PR pros to volunteer for handling the news coverage of an open event scheduled for the morning of Sunday, August 15th in Central Park, during which the Dalai Lama will discuss how people can lead a 'compassionate and happy life.'

An early-morning meditation in 1991 drew 5,000 people and Baran anticipates that this time there will be 'thousands' present. 'It's always a joy helping the Dalai Lama get his message out,' he said. 'Giving time in this way can be deeply gratifying.'
