GCI staff receives healthcare boost

NEW YORK: Spurred by 24% growth in US PR income, GCI Group's healthcare practice has bolstered its New York management team with two senior-level promotions and a key hire.

NEW YORK: Spurred by 24% growth in US PR income, GCI Group's healthcare practice has bolstered its New York management team with two senior-level promotions and a key hire.

Group VP Joanne Marlin and SVP Shirley Stadtmueller were both bumped up to director, a new position. They will share responsibility for the overall healthcare practice management for US pharmaceuticals and new business development in the New York office, and will report to EVP Bob Pearson. Marlin and Stadtmueller have managed blue-chip pharmaceutical clients such as Novartis and Bristol-Myers Squibb.

GCI also named John Deats SVP, a position based out of New York. Deats was previously senior management director at InterScience.

In addition, SVP of strategic services and planning Beth Fisher was promoted to SVP of the company's clinical trial recruitment practice.
