IPO-ready job site chooses Burson

NEW YORK: HotJobs.com, one of the Internet's leading job recruitment sites, isn't allowed to say much publicly in the days preceding its IPO.

But now Burson-Marsteller can speak for the site as its PR and IR AOR.

HotJobs chose BM over seven suitors, reportedly including Hill & Knowlton and BSMG. The assignment is for one year.

The hiring of BM likely signifies a marketing push for HotJobs. The firm had previously used the Northborough, MA-based Donovan Group for its PR and IR, but had been without an agency since its contract expired in April.

Director of PR Bob Liu was quick to note that BM's hiring does not reflect on the job done by Donovan. 'It's a matter of proximity,' he said. 'We can literally bring BM into meetings, which is so essential.'

BM's core account team will be jointly lead by Peter Himler, a MD of the firm's corporate practice, and Steve Maslow, a MD of its financial/IR practice.
