LOS ANGELES: A small LA outfit last week secured around 800 TV hits in less than 24 hours for the successful lawyers in the dollars 4.9 billion General Motors liability case. National Satellite, a video publicity shop, and consulting firm Hemingway Media were charged with telling the world about GM's mistake in failing to recall cars with faulty gas tanks.
'We had cameras at the press conference, and we put out an unedited raw feed to the stations,' said Ron Sylvester, VP of production at National Satellite. 'We beat AP to the story, which meant a lot of people didn't know what we were talking about. Figures aren't in yet, but just about every TV station in America ran our video.'
