INDIANAPOLIS: As plans for the Dalai Lama's August visit to the US continue to fall into place, so too do the local agencies who will be coordinating the coverage of his visit.

Montgomery Zukerman Davis (MZD) has been hired for the Indianapolis leg of the visit, which will include the Dalai's annual world peace event.

Fenton Communications' NY office has been tapped to do PR for the New York swing (PRWeek, July 5).

MZD has devoted 15 employees to the account and is coordinating a press conference and public address to be held during the Kalachakra World Peace event. The conference will kick off with a welcoming ceremony on August 16 and will be followed by a 11-day interfaith teaching event (August 17 to 27). More than 3,000 people have registered to attend.

MZD is handling the work on a pro bono basis and will be working closely with Jigme Norbu, the executive director of the Tibetan Cultural Center in Bloomington, IN. Norbu is also the Dalai Lama's nephew.
