PALO ALTO, CA: Hewlett-Packard has shaken up its Washington, DC presence by shifting policy decisions over to company veteran Gary Fazzino.

Fazzino, previously HP's government relations and state government affairs manager, will head the company's federal public policy programs and its Washington, DC office. He has specifically been charged with developing HP's positions on US domestic issues.

Fazzino, who joined HP in 1977, has one small commitment to take care of before relocating to Washington: he is currently the mayor of Palo Alto, CA.

'I believe my experience working with hi-tech political and public-policy interests combined with my years as an elected official, provides me with much perspective,' he said in a statement.
