SAN DIEGO: Fast-food giant McDonald’s continues to come up empty in
its search for a VP of US communications.
The chain has been trying to fill the post for several months, and,
according to group VP of worldwide communications Jack Daly, added
Pasadena-based headhunter Repovich-Reynolds Group to its search team
about a month ago. The position has been vacant since Daly was promoted
to his current job several months ago.
McDonald’s is likely offering a salary in the six-figure range, but its
generally poor reputation when it comes to media relations is giving
pause to many PR people who otherwise might rush to apply. ’Everyone
would like to have the money, but McDonald’s is not outstanding in how
they work with the press,’ said one source. This year, McDonald’s plans
to open roughly 1,575 outlets outside the US.
