The health club, Crunch, has national ambitions and is now looking for a

PR director to lead its communications efforts.

Mortman departed to Four Corners Communications, a shop specializing in

magazine PR led by Drew Kerr. She was named a senior VP at Four Corners

and described her newly created role as ’chief cook and bottle

washer.’

In the new position, Mortman will be responsible for promoting

Metropolis, a new design and architecture magazine. ’The offer was a

completely random one, but I really loved the kind of work that Four

Corners had done,’ said Mortman, who had been representing Crunch for

the last two-and-a-half years.

She previously worked on Democratic campaigns in Washington, DC.

Crunch, meanwhile, is forging ahead with plans to take its quirky gym

model outside the New York region. A spokesperson said there is no

timetable for replacing Mortman.
