COPENHAGEN: The GCI Group has acquired Mannov Consult, a former
affiliate and one of the largest firms in Denmark.
Based in Copenhagen, the firm (since renamed GCI Mannov) has 24
employees and fee income of dollars 2.3 million. The firm handles
companies such as Braun Nordic, British Airways, CNN and Kodak.
Ralf Hering, chairman of GCI Europe, said the previous working
affiliation between the firms for two years made the acquisition a
no-brainer. ’We’ve done a lot of business together in Scandinavia,’ he
said. ’We like to be engaged before going to bed together.’
Strong synergies exist between GCI Mannov and GCI Rinfo, GCI’s main
Scandinavian agency, which was acquired last year. GCI Rinfo boasts PR
income of dollars 5 million and was a key factor in GCI’s recent British
Airways win, Hering said.
