CAMBRIDGE, MA: MediaMap has introduced its new Intranet 2.0 system,

a distribution tool which, according to the company, will allow PR

professionals to slip into cruise control when sending press releases

onto the information superhighway.

Company spokesperson Brenda Kelly is billing the new system as an

invaluable time-saver. ’Some firms who have tested the software are

reporting that it actually shaves days off their working time,’ she

said. ’Whether it’s a few days or a few hours, cutting down on the time

spent distributing material is definitely a bonus.’

Intranet 2.0 unites an extensive media database with an innovative press

release distribution system. The OneLink feature, for example, enables

the user to simultaneously send out releases via four different

distribution channels: e-mail, mail, fax and wire service (Business Wire

and PR Newswire).

The new software also centralizes information from the MediaMap/SQL

database, which combines contact data from MediaMap and Bacon’s with the

client’s own media contacts.

Several firms have already chimed in with their support of the new

software.

’It has significantly improved the productivity of our client teams,’

said Kristen Polich of Miller/Shandwick Technologies. ’Plus, it’s easy

to use. MediaMap understands the PR process and has designed the

software to fit the industry’s needs.’
