CLEVELAND: Wyse Landau has started a new food service and

hospitality practice, and tabbed industry veteran Stephen Michaelides to

lead it.

Michaelides, editor and associate publisher of Restaurant Hospitality

since 1970, joined the firm as a senior consultant last week to head up

the four-person unit. Agency prexy Howard Landau and Michaelides have

known each other for decades, and teaming up to go after more food

business ’just made sense,’ according to Landau.

’No one in our region is particularly expert in this category,’ he

said.

’There should be plenty of opportunity for us.’

Working with Michaelides, well known in restaurant and food-service

circles, gives Wyse Landau an immediate high-profile presence. He has

been elected to the National Restaurant Association’s educational

foundation college of diplomats (a prestigious industry honor) and is

affiliated with the Culinary Institute of America.

The new unit will initially target the restaurant and hospitality

sectors, but will also be looking for PR business from food companies

and processors.

Among the agency’s clients in the food space are Smucker’s and

Applebee’s.
