The new accounts, all Internet start-ups that have never worked with a

PR agency, include Hotlinks, an online search community; Keynote, which

provides Internet performance measurement and diagnostic services;

ReleaseNow.com, a supplier of outsourced e-commerce solutions for

software publishers; and ONElist, an online retailer and e-mail

communities company.

According to Eastwick principal Barbara Bates, all of the new business

can be attributed to referrals from industry insiders rather than

participation in formal RFPs.

’There is a pretty loyal following of ’friends of Eastwick’ in the VC

community and in the Valley,’ said Bates. She noted that Keynote and

ReleaseNow.com were referred to Eastwick by VC firm CMGI.

Based in Redwood City, Eastwick is one of the few independent PR firms

in the Silicon Valley top 10. Reporting dollars 4.7 million in revenue

for 1998, the agency experienced a 62% growth in 1997, and should

surpass dollars 7 million in 1999, according to Bates.

Founded in 1992, Eastwick has nearly 30 employees. Other clients include

Hewlett Packard, Adobe Systems and Ramp Networks.
