DANBURY, CT: Industrial gas company Praxair has named Scott Cunningham as director of IR. Cunningham, who stepped into the position last week, previously served as general manager of the Pacific Northwest division of the company’s packaged gases subsidiary, Praxair Distribution. He succeeds Joseph Cappello, who becomes director of the company’s carbon dioxide business.

HARTFORD: MDI Entertainment, which creates and markets lottery industry

promotions, has signed a six-month contract with Investor Awareness. MDI

Entertainment president and CEO Steven Saferin said the company has

worked with two other IR firms in the past, but was unhappy with the

results. ’We’ve had five good quarters, and we’re still undervalued,’

said Saferin. The company has an annual IR budget of dollars

100,000.



NEW YORK: West Glen Communications, a producer and distributor of VNRs

and other multimedia programs, has named Steven Edelman as VP/CFO.

Edelman previously served as general manager of Hearst Magazines’ brand

development group.



BOSTON: The Rasky/Baerlein Group has announced a slew of new hires and

promotions. Brian Condron, who previously directed healthcare policy

within the government affairs department of Parke-Davis, has been hired

as SVP of public affairs. The agency has also hired Yolanda James,

formerly with the Peace Games, as an AE and Amy Farris as account

coordinator. Promotions include Coleman Nee to associate VP and Kelly

O’Connor and Lauren Carney to SAE.



CHICAGO: Jamie Roth has returned to Fleishman-Hillard as managing

supervisor of its Chicago technology practice. Fleishman has also added

Sheree Aronson as an SVP in its Los Angeles office, where she will work

on financial PR.



SILVER SPRING, MD: The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation has

awarded a dollars 30,000 contract to Prospect Associates, which will

evaluate the foundation’s research portfolio.



PHILADELPHIA: The American College of Physicians/America Society of

International Medicine has tapped David Sgrignoli as SVP of marketing

and communications. He will work on media relations and member

communications.



NEW YORK: BSMG has added Martin Franken as CFO and promoted Edward

Powers to COO. Franken joins the agency from Saatchi & Saatchi, while

Powers was previously CFO at BSMG. The agency has also been named PR

counsel for StarCore, a joint Lucent/Motorola design center for

next-generation digital signal processors.



ST. PAUL, MN: Point2Point Communications Solutions has started

InterActiveView.net, a webcasting service for Minneapolis-based

companies and PR firms. The site is designed to incorporate video, audio

and slide presentations, and can be used for employee training, annual

meetings or sending out earnings reports.
