REDWOOD CITY, CA: Ketchum Thomas, known more for its work with
business-to-business technology companies, has shifted toward a more
consumer-oriented space with this month’s signing of three Internet
accounts, Topica, Signatures Network and IntelliSeek.
Topica, a pre-IPO start-up that offers e-mail list hosting for
individuals and groups with specific interests, has handled PR in-house
since its launch in January 1998. Ketchum Thomas’ mission, according to
agency principal Susan Thomas, is primarily ’category definition -
letting people know what they do and what they offer.’
Ketchum Thomas won IntelliSeek, the Cincinnati company behind search
engine ’Bulls Eye,’ via referral from a VC firm, while Signatures
Network, a Sony spin-off that will license entertainment products
online, also came on board via referral. For each, the agency will
handle branding and media-related activities.
