BOSTON: Boutique agency Aigner Associates has added seven new
clients to its roster within the past two months, enriching its coffers
to the tune of dollars 400,000 to dollars 500,000.
New retainer clients include Cambridge-based Mount Auburn Hospital;
Sportsfan. com, which is launching a new web site; educational toy
company Gamewright; music site SportsSound, for which Aigner will launch
a CD featuring Olympic skater Nancy Kerrigan; and new restaurant
PMP.
In addition, project client MonsterJam and JAM’N 94.5 FM hired the
agency to manage media relations for its upcoming concert and other
radio-station events throughout the year. Finally, Hoyt’s Cinema tapped
Aigner to do media relations for its new stadium megaplex theater
opening in Hyannis, MA in December.
According to Aigner SVP Janet Prensky, the majority of the new accounts
came through referrals, rather than through a formal RFP or audition
process. ’People are coming out of the summer doldrums and looking for
agencies,’ said Prensky. ’A lot of agencies get good results, but
sometimes it’s the karma and chemistry that works.’
Prensky believes the agency’s comparatively informal approach is a key
factor behind the new business. ’We’re a very no-muss, no-fuss agency,’
she said. ’What you see is what you get.’
To help service these clients, the agency has hired account executive
Kerry O’Leary, formerly with Lois Paul & Partners, and promoted John
White from junior account coordinator to junior AE. The marketing and PR
shop now numbers eight employees and 25 accounts, including TNT
Vacations and 15 shopping centers in New England.
