NEW YORK: BeautyBuys.com, a fashion web site, has signed beauty and
fashion PR specialist Lippe Taylor to a three-year deal worth dollars 1
million.
BeautyBuys.com has charged the firm with finding a celebrity
spokesperson to help brand the new site, according to site president
Thomas Barbella.
’We are not just looking to them for PR help,’ he said. ’We are looking
at them as a marketing partner.’
Barbella believes a three-year term was in the best interest of both
parties. ’They realize that we are committed to them,’ he explained.
’They won’t be hesitant to put their full resources behind us.’
Lippe Taylor is currently negotiating with a TV actress to appear in a
commercial for the web site, and the agency will also be involved in
product development. Barbella said there is a chance that BeautyBuys.com
will work with the agency’s other clients, which include the Andrew
Jergens Company and Procter & Gamble.
The win follows the signing of two other dot-com clients, beauty site
Gloss.com and music community mH2o.com.
Lippe Taylor, headed by former Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar beauty editor
Maureen Lippe, is looking for someone to head its core new media
operations.
Recent wins for the nine-year-old agency include P&G hair care product
Physique and lingerie line Barely There.
