CAMBRIDGE, MA: MediaMap last week unveiled MediaMap Online, a new
service that will allow PR pros to manage their media contacts more
accurately and efficiently.
MediaMap Online provides information on over 20,000 journalists and what
the company calls ’key industry influencers.’ The service does not
require software installation.
’It puts all the tools for creating and sending out target-specific
media lists in one Web-based product,’ said VP of business development
Peter Granat.
A database of journalist and analyst profiles includes beats covered,
phone and fax numbers, e-mail, work preferences and problems they have
with PR pros. ’We even list the best days and times to call a
journalist,’ Granat said. A team of 30 creates monthly updates.
Articles about journalists and ones in which analysts are mentioned can
be accessed through a link to the Dow Jones Interactive Publications
Library.
’The link gives instant access to every article a journalist has written
for the more than 6,000 publications we cover,’ said Carol Newman,
director of enterprise distribution strategy for Dow Jones-Reuters
Business Interactive.
’A reporter or editor’s style and news interests can be researched
immediately.’
MediaMap Online costs dollars 199 per month, but users must sign up for
the year.
