But even an outing to the most mundane motel can yield a worthwhile experience for journalists - and publicists - when all the elements are there. According to execs who plan the trips and journalists who take them, those necessary elements range from complete press kits delivered before the journey to screening out ’hacks’ who seriously impair the credibility of the trip.
