NEW YORK: Former Variety bureau chief Rebecca Lieb has been
appointed vice president, communications at corporate branding firm
Siegel & Gale.
Lieb, who has also served as VP of communications at Unapix
Entertainment and held various positions at Universal’s Television &
Networks Group, is expected to take a key role in the agency’s
interactive PR business. ’We’re preparing to position the company as a
major force in interactive media, in addition to our reputation for
corporate identity and branding,’ she said.
Lieb spent 10 years doing publicity for independent films before joining
Variety as German bureau chief between 1990 and 1993. She predicted that
the agency will be looking to hire outside firms for project work.
Other recent S&G hires include Robert Topaz (named SVP and industry
marketing director for telecommunications) and Michael Peinovich (SVP
and industry marketing director for financial services).
American Express and PBS flagship station WNET Thirteen are among Siegel
& Gale’s high-profile clients. Others include Bristol-Myers Squibb,
Ernst & Young and Kodak.
The agency is headquartered in New York and has offices in Los Angeles,
Latin America and Asia.
