NEW YORK & DALLAS: Edelman last week filled two high-profile
vacancies, naming Miller Bonner Jr. as GM of technology and co-chair of
the global technology sector and Samuel Falcona as director of its Texas
operations.
Bonner takes over for Steve Hoechster, who left the New York technology
post several months ago to become VP of communications for Qwest
Communications.
He will start full-time on November 1 and will lead a staff of six VPs
and 40 PR pros.
In addition to fostering a team environment, Bonner said one of his
goals is to encourage convergence between Edelman’s different sectors.
’Clients want hi-tech to work with consumer, healthcare and investor
relations,’ said Bonner. ’They expect seamless coordination across
practice areas and geographies.’
Falcona, a Chicago native, takes over as Texas managing director on
November 1. He replaces John Holland, who took a job in Gavin Anderson’s
Hong Kong office.
Falcona leaves behind his own consultancy, Alert Five
Communications.
Previously, he served 20 years as a Navy public affairs officer before
moving through PR positions at Sears and Unicom Corp.
