NEW YORK: Edelman took a giant step last week toward boosting its
profile in the New York media by hiring former Rudy Giuliani spokesman
and director of media programming Ken Frydman.
Frydman takes on the dual role of SVP of New York affairs and director
of communications, the latter being a newly created position. His
responsibilities involve the somewhat daunting task of weaving Edelman
and its clients into the fabric of New York City cultural, business and
philanthropic activity.
Frydman joins the company from his own consultancy, where he counseled
the likes of M&M/Mars.
Edelman ranks behind only Burson-Marsteller in the New York market, with
revenues approaching dollars 50 million.
