BUENOS AIRES: Independent PR agency network IPREX has announced
plans for aggressive Latin American expansion in 2000.
The network’s charge will be led by Mariana Ferrari, recently promoted
to VP for the region. She is also the president of IPREX member Ferrari,
Ruiz Guinazu & Asociados, a newly formed PR agency with headquarters in
Buenos Aires.
IPREX’s Latin American push could make for a heated PR climate in Buenos
Aires, which is home to affiliates of rival networks Pinnacle and
Worldcom.
To prime the pump for the potential expansion, Ferrari is developing a
campaign to raise awareness of IPREX among Latin America’s corporate
players. The campaign, slated to begin this month, will include PR
events, such as conferences with IPREX experts as featured speakers, and
ads in the trade press.
’We want to position IPREX as the leading network of independent PR
agencies in Latin America and beyond,’ Ferrari said.
Another goal of the campaign is to lure more partners in the region.
’We’re already considering adding six new affiliates,’ Ferrari said,
noting these agencies are in the pre-qualifying process of becoming
full-fledged IPREX members. Ferrari declined to disclose the potential
new members.
