FORT LAUDERDALE: After a four-year relationship with The Weber
Group, computer supplier Citrix Systems has decided to take its PR
operations in-house.
The account had been worth dollars 60,000 a month, occasionally reaching
dollars 90,000 with special projects. While Weber president and CEO
Marijean Lauzier declined to comment on the value of the account, she
said it was among the firm’s 15 biggest in terms of client billings.
According to Lauzier, Citrix had been ramping up its in-house staff over
the past six months. The company hired Joe Horine as its director of
worldwide corporate communication from NCR, and added former Compaq pro
Douglas Wheeler as SVP of marketing last month.
’When Joe came in, he very enthusiastically pursued building an in-house
PR department, and he prefers to work with agencies on a project basis,’
said Lauzier.
