STOCKHOLM: The Rikta Group, one of Sweden’s top communications
agencies, has launched Rikta Spider, an affiliate designed to service
the hi-tech and dot-com sectors.
The new offshoot will provide PR for companies located in Sweden,
Denmark, Norway and Finland, according to Rikta Group CEO Peter Erikson.
’The Nordic region was lacking a full-service agency targeted at the
hi-tech market,’ he said, adding that the increased use of the Internet
has sparked an increased demand for PR agencies in the area. Among the
services the new shop will offer are media relations, IR and internal
communications.
The introduction of Rikta Spider is part of the Rikta Group’s ongoing
growth strategy. The company grew 70% between 1997 and 1998, and expects
40% growth in 1999, with billings of roughly dollars 7.3 million. ’We
see the Nordic market growing at this pace for another three or four
years,’ Erikson said.
Rikta Spider already lists Sun/Netscape among its clients.
