NEW YORK: Cone has been tapped as agency of record for three new
e-commerce clients: ZanyBrainy.com, Shine! and Student Advantage. The
new business will add dollars 1.7 million in billings to the firm’s
coffers. Cone has also added four new staffers to its NY-based
interactive practice, including Kelly Disque (account manager) and Sacha
Xavier (media coordinator).
NOVI, MI: Sandra Carson, formerly manager of corporate communications
and PR for Stroh Brewery - one of the nation’s largest beer-makers until
it left the business a few months ago - has been named PR and marketing
manager for Local Color Brewing.
BUFFALO: B&K Components, a manufacturer of high-end audio and home
theater components, has tapped Caster Communications as its agency of
record. The contract, which runs through 2000, calls for a range of
media relations and direct marketing activities.
NEEDHAM, MA: Hi-Q Wason, one of Taiwan’s largest providers of bottled
water, has initiated a shareholder and IR program through National
Financial Network, a division of National Financial Communications. This
is the first time the company has hired an IR agency. Hi-Q Wason
recently started trading on the NASDAQ exchange.
