DULLES, VA: The E. James White Company (EJW), an integrated ad/PR
agency, has hired veteran marketer Bill Puckett and installed him in the
new position of executive creative director.
Agency president Matt White believes Puckett will help increase the
firm’s client base as well as its staff. ’We expect Bill’s connections
and experience to help us bring in creative talent from other regions,’
he said. White added that EJW’s income has grown by 30% in 1999 and will
reach dollars 50 million.
Puckett, who arrives from Long Haymes Carr Advertising in New York, has
brought with him a group of NY-area freelancers that are interested in
joining EJW. ’We’re looking to recruit people with big-agency
experience,’ he said, acknowledging that he is not alone in this
regard.
Additionally, he hopes to help EJW compete with larger agencies and
NY-based communications companies for PR and advertising projects. ’We
would like to double or triple our business in the next three years,’ he
said, noting that he will oversee both the DC and west coast creative
directors.
Puckett boasts 19 years of experience in what he calls ’creative
strategy,’ including stints at the Marketing Corporation of America,
Gerr Dubois and Ally & Gergano.
