Following a volley of bizarre Hillary-style PR gaffes (like her
becoming a lifetime Yankee fan), Rudy Giuliani has crept back into the
New York Senate race PR faux pas contest.
The NYC mayor, in between withdrawing funding from supposedly
blasphemous art exhibits and going to war with the homeless during
Thanksgiving, recently sent out thousands of direct-mail appeals to
potential contributors.
’If you don’t want to see Hillary Rodham Clinton in the US Senate, I
need your immediate support,’ the letter read. ’It ... looks like I’m
the only one who stands between (her) and the Senate ... I’m going to
need every ounce - and every dime - of help, encouragement and support
that I can get from friends like you.’
Unfortunately for Giuliani, many of these letters were sent to people
unlikely to be sympathetic to his cause - like the Clinton White
House.
The appeal, addressed to ’Executive Office of the President, The White
House,’ elicited more than its share of chuckles in the DC media
circuit.
’He’s more likely to get cash from Bill than from anyone else in there,’
said one pundit.
