SAN FRANCISCO: Veteran business journalist Bill Meyers, most
recently a senior staff writer at USA Today, has signed on with Blanc &
Otus as VP of media strategy, a new position.
Meyers will work directly with the agency’s existing media directors and
clients - ’acting as a resource to shed light on the mysterious world of
journalism,’ he quipped.
Prior to his USA Today tenure, Meyers spent seven years at US News and
World Report as assistant managing editor for business and
technology.
Before that, he wrote for Institutional Investor and spent eight years
at The New York Times.
’I feel that I have achieved everything I wanted to achieve in my career
as a business journalist,’ he said. ’I like the broadness of the agency
world, and all of the people here seem so smart and focused.’
Meyers is the second of two new VPs to join Blanc & Otus within the last
month.
The agency also hired Kelly Seacrist as a VP in its one-month-old
Washington, DC office.
Formerly director of corporate communications for e-centives, an
e-commerce start-up, Seacrist also served as a key member of the
consumer PR team for both LCI International (now Qwest) and MCI
WorldCom.
