Airport Authority (TAA) has turned to public affairs specialists R.
Duffy Wall and Associates.
The TAA board awarded a one-year contract with a two-year renewal option
to the firm last week, a deal valued at dollars 185,000 annually. The
board hopes its investment will grease the skids for a dollars 16
million noise abatement grant it plans to seek from the Aviation Trust
Fund, according to airports director Brent Kitchen. Kitchen noted that
Tulsa recouped only 10% of last years’s tax contributions.
The TAA based its choice of R. Duffy Wall on the agency’s success in
helping the City of Tulsa negotiate the conversion of an old Air Force
bomber plant into a facility that will house a school bus factory.
The TAA also tapped Tulsa’s Schnake Turnbo Brookey & Associates (STB)
for general PR duties, awarding the firm a one-year contract that could
be worth as much as dollars 75,000 annually.
STB employed TAA earlier in the decade. Both agencies will work closely
