This just in: PR pros aren’t especially stressed out.
This just in: PR pros aren’t especially stressed out.
Lord knows we didn’t need a formal study to confirm this, but the fine
folks behind the annual Thomas L. Harris/ Impulse Research Employee
Satisfaction survey decided to ask around, just to be sure.
Roughly 52% of 1,256 agency employees surveyed last summer said their
present jobs have little stress or tension. Yet another shocker: half of
those surveyed hope to be employed somewhere else in five years. Gee, we
thought this was a profession in which the best people remain planted in
one place for all eternity.
Among the other completely unsurprising findings: the ’ideal job’
provides ’challenging tasks and a sense of accomplishment’ (97%) and
sufficient time for personal and family life (93%).
No word as yet on whether next year’s survey will seek to unravel other
sphinx-like mysteries of PR, like whether pros would like a raise, or
maybe a nice warm towel after lunch.
