The Prime Minister has joined Sina Weibo, a Chinese microblogging service similar to Twitter, as he embarks on a trade mission to the country.
Cameron is coincidentally accompanied on the trip by Huntsworth chief executive and his neighbour Lord Chadlington, who has waxed lyrical about the power of China’s social media networks Weibo and WeChat.
The first post by Cameron was written yesterday and said in English and Mandarin: "Hello my friends in China. I’m pleased to have joined Weibo and look forward to visiting China very soon."
