Former Glencore comms head to lead Blue Rubicon's second Middle East office

Simon Buerk is leaving Edelman after just over a year to take charge of Blue Rubicon’s attempt to crack the Dubai market.

Buerk, who was a regional director for Edelman in the Middle East and Africa, has also served as head of comms for commodity trader Glencore, energy company Qatar Shell and Shell’s Gas & Power division in the Middle East.

Blue Rubicon has hired four staff for the Dubai office, which will open by the end of the year following the launch of its first international office, in Qatar.
