The North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust (NWAS) has brought in agency help as it seeks to raise awareness over the outcomes of calling 999.
Following a four-way pitch process, Tangerine PR has been appointed to implement a six-month campaign designed to educate the public that a 999 call doesn’t necessarily always need an ambulance or result in a trip to hospital.
As part of this, it will profile six people in the emergency ambulance service, under the title #Team999.
Speaking about Tangerine’s appointment, Sarah Smith, assistant director of comms for NWAS, said: "While the traditional media aspects will play an integral role, Tangerine’s approach is very much focused on developing engaging social media content to profile each of the #Team999 representatives, which we hope will enable us to reach new audiences online."
