Lobbying bill passes into House of Lords

A statutory register of lobbyists moved another step closer last night after the Commons voted in favour of the third reading of the Transparency of Lobbying Bill.

The vote following the third reading debate went in the Government’s favour by 304 votes to 260.

The bill has now passed into the House of Lords, where it received its first reading yesterday. Its second reading is scheduled for 22 October.
