In separate moves, heads of news Nick Turton and Linda Martin will depart their roles at the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) and Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) respectively.

Turton told PRWeek that he would be leaving at the end of July to take a year-long career break following four-and-a-half years at the DECC.

He said: ‘I will hopefully be able to return to the DECC after my break, though not in the same role. I have covered my brief for a long time and we are in the process of recruiting for the post.’

PRWeek understands that Martin will be leaving the DCMS for a career break at the same time, with no replacement announced yet.
