Shangri-La engages Roche to promote Shard hotel bar and restaurant

This autumn's launch of the food and drink venues in the Shangri-La Hotel in The Shard will be handled by Roche Communications.

The specialist hospitality PR agency won a five-way pitch for the 12-month retainer, which covers three separate outlets.

The hotel bar on level 52 of the skyscraper is claimed to be London’s highest ‘sky bar’ and will include a swimming pool.

There is also a restaurant and lounge on level 35 and a patisserie and deli on level 34, the lowest floor of the hotel.

The 202-bedroom property is Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts’ first UK operation.

Roche will be working alongside the hotel’s director of comms Ashleigh Brayshaw.

The agency has won a series of restaurant accounts including British group Bumpkin, fine dining restaurant Trinity in Clapham, Rosa’s Thai Cafés and Kimchee To Go.
