Sagentia has developed a number of medical apps, software and multi-device wireless systems that helps people, particularly with chronic conditions, to assess themselves or be monitored remotely through internet-connected devices either at home or in a clinic.

It is the first time Sagentia has appointed a comms agency to handle this work. Amy Redhead, head of Aspectus PR’s b2b technology division, will lead the account, reporting directly to Sagentia’s vice-president of corporate development Tamara Kahn.

Aspectus PR is tasked with exploring the current connected health industry to determine how to position Sagentia within it.

Bill Penn, global group director at Aspectus, said the initial project is likely to be extended as the company’s technology ‘has the potential to mark huge developments in the way the health service is run’.

The agency claims that connected health has the potential to improve hospital efficiency, to significantly reduce healthcare costs and increase care quality and service at the same time.

The brief will see Aspectus targeting a wide range of people within the UK’s health system, from senior clinicians and decision makers to members of the Government and the media in order to promote Sagentia within the healthcare market place.

Based in Cambridge, Sagentia identifies and develops innovative surgical, diagnostic and patient care device systems.

The company states the patient care sector is currently undergoing a dramatic period of change as providers seek to move from centralised and expensive medical treatments towards approaches focused on improved access, usability and cost.
