TurnerTrippick PR has been handed a retained brief and will be working to raise general awareness of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport in Texas.

Chris Trippick is co-founder of the agency, whose work will also cover the UK. He explained that part of the brief would be to emphasise the airport’s location as a gateway into America and South America.

Referring to the World Cup Final in 2014 and Rio 2016 Olympics Games, Trippick said: ‘This makes it a very exciting time to be promoting the airport and we are already looking at ways to leverage the opportunities these events will undoubtedly create.’

The airport, which claims to be the fourth busiest in the world, reached 200 destinations in March 2013.

As part of wider efforts to raise awareness in Europe, the airport has recently signed up to attend the Paris Air Show in June.

Trippick added: ‘Dallas/Fort Worth is the only airport where you can get to every other major city in the US within a four-hour flight. A lot of people travel to either the east or west coast to enter the States, but this is a third option and we want to let the European market to know that.'
