Supported by a volunteer network, the charity organises free monthly Sunday afternoon tea parties for small groups of older people in the homes of volunteers in local communities across England, Scotland and Wales.

Following a seven-way pitch shootout, Stand has been tasked with raising awareness, generating sponsorship and strategy development.

Laura Oliphant, founder of the agency, will be leading the work. She said the plans included generating media coverage through reports created by the charity, which focuses on the threat of loneliness and isolation for the elderly: ‘We want to highlight the difference that three hours volunteering a month makes, and this could include celebrity endorsement and bringing what the charity does to life.’

Oliphant added that work would be likely to include bringing the tea parties out of homes and into the public arena ‘and opening up doors of amazing venues’ to host the events.
