Firm behind Bob the Builder picks Evans for PR role

The maker of Bob the Builder has appointed its first PR director

and is set to review its in-house and agency PR needs.

Hit Entertainment, which produces the children's TV series, has poached

AMV Advance PR head Lucinda Evans with a mandate to decide on the firm's

PR needs.

She confirmed this will result in either the appointment of an external

agency, or the recruitment of an internal PR team, which she will decide

upon within weeks.

AMV Advance is yet to appoint a replacement for Evans, who was

instrumental in setting up the consumer PR arm of the advertiser,

winning clients such as Lowenbrau for the agency (PRWeek, 9 March

2001).

Former Hasbro European brand manager Sally Sidani, who handled

promotions for Monopoly, Cluedo and Hasbro's licensed games, has joined

Hit as a brand manager.

She will be responsible for UK and international development of brands

including Bob the Builder, Pingu, The Magic Key and Oswald.
