IPC is to launch an upmarket magazine on 7 February for people
wanting practical advice about renovating homes.
Creating Beautiful Homes, which will initially be quarterly, is aimed at
'young traditionalists' who want to create a home that has 'period
appeal with a contemporary touch', according to the publisher.
Launch editor Sara Pate, who was previously Ideal Homes art director,
said: 'We believe there is a move towards people wanting a more timeless
look. We have had the modern phase, now people want a traditional look
that will last.
'We also had a gap in our portfolio as County Homes has moved very
country from being quite traditional. At the same time, Emap's Period
Living is very restorational, we are a renovation title with a lot of
practical advice on products,' she added.
Pates said the magazine would have a broad appeal but would be aimed at
35 to 55- year-olds.
The magazine will be a sister title to the monthly 25 Beautiful Homes
title, which has been a success for the publisher.
