INTERNATIONAL: GDB to help teach Hispanic markets Microsoft benefit

FLORIDA: Microsoft is planning a communications drive to tap into

the burgeoning Hispanic small-business market, hiring PR firm GDB &

Partners to help.

The software giant is launching a series of educational and networking

events, entitled Build Your Business, to be held in Miami, Los Angeles,

Houston, Chicago, New York, and San Antonio.

The meetings are designed to drive home the message that the PC,

together with internet technology, can have a major positive impact on

Hispanic-owned businesses.

GDB managing partner Seth Gordon said Microsoft's desire to connect with

the Hispanic audience is based on simple demographics.

'The use of technology in African-American and Hispanic-owned businesses

is significantly lower than business in general,' said Gordon.

'Our PR goal is to reach those owners, and explain to them how Microsoft

can improve their business,' he added.
