DIARY: Taylor Herring Comms is not for sale, despite earnest global suitors

Whispers are afoot that the global agencies are buying again, this

time almost indiscriminately.

Entertainment specialist Taylor Herring Communications last week

received its first offer to acquire, just six months after

husband-and-wife team James Herring and Cath Taylor launched the

firm.

A letter from the prospective acquirer's accountants said: 'The company

has an excellent blue-chip client base and provides a wide range of

PR-related services, including public affairs. They would like to meet

owners of companies with similar services who are willing to consider

offers for their business. Appropriate finance is in place.'

Well, it could be anybody from Edelman to Burson-Marsteller. But they

could have a wait on their hands. Herring was overheard at an industry

do earlier this month emphatically declaring that he had no intention of

selling for 'a few years'.
