MEDIA: BBC poaches IPC editor Bruton to front its Eve title

BBC Worldwide has poached the editor of IPC's Livingetc to take

over its middle-youth title Eve.

Bruton said she was hoping to 'redefine' the women's market with Eve in

the way she claimed to have done with the homes market at Livingetc and

that there would be changes, but that she would not be drawn on the

details.

'There is huge potential for Eve - it is one of the few magazines that

has tried to do something new and different and I want to build on that.

I shall look at all areas. It is about the quality of the content,' she

added.

Bruton, who was previously associate editor of Prima, will take over

from Gill Hudson, who launched the title and is now working on other

projects for the BBC. Bruton was appointed by publisher Jo Morrell, who

joined the title from IPC in December.

The magazine, which last year published an ABC figure of 131,000, has

also appointed Amanda Pitt, from Good Housekeeping, as ad director.
